LU 7 REFERRAL PROCEDURE
The Business Manager is responsible to fill calls in a timely manner as needed by employers.This means in an emergency, referrals may have to be made outside normal hours using whatever means are available to fill calls and place registrants.
1. An applicant referred out to work will be removed from the Referral Book after exceeding 28 days of employment. An applicant who requests a layoff or quits his/her job within 28 days will be removed from the referral list. If layed off through no fault of your own within 28 days it is the applicant's responsibility to notify the hall. Failure to do so will will keep you registered on the list as working and you will be ineligable to put in for a call.
2. To be advised of job referrals within the local 7 jurisdiction an applicant residing in the 413 area code must:
- Call 1-800-940-1560 Monday through Friday after 5 PM AND NO LATER THAN 6:30 AM THE FOLLOWING MORNING.
- leave his/her name and indicate the job(s) they prefer in order, or state any of or all are acceptable.
-Be at the telephone number left on the recorder between 7 and 8 AM the day of referral. No messages will be left by the Referral Agent.
- Applicants will be called in the order of placement on the referral list. Once the job referral has been filled, no further calls will be made.
-Registrants who could have been referred but did not respond shall be issued a turndown. Registrants will be rolled off the book on their third turndown. An applicant must resign in person after rolling off the book.
- No applicant will be issued a turndown for B-Rate calls or Short calls.
- Short calls are one week or less.
3. Applicants signing the book may do so between 8 AM and 3:30 PM Monday through Friday.
RESIGN
1. A monthly resign is required between the second Monday through the following Friday. Resign times are between 8AM and 3:30 PM. and may be done in person, by fax, or by email.
